After making the decision to focus on breeding champion thoroughbreds, the Woodard family, traditionally beef and sheep pastoralists from Skipton in the Western District of Victoria shifted their stud operation in 1986 to the Macedon Ranges Region, drawn to its volcanic soils, high rainfall, water and proximity to Melbourne it was a sensible move and with consistent dedication for over 50 years and sound management, they have established one of Victorias most successful and premier stud operations.
The Farm
Yallambee Stud is ideal country for equine operations and has been principally designed to suit thoroughbred breeding, rearing youngsters and racehorse spelling. Free draining rich volcanic soils married with a moderately cooler climate, rolling hills, good reliable rainfall and the astute layout makes this property versatile and extremely workable throughout the annual calendar.
